This year’s Victorian market was held last Sunday (23rd October) and was absolutely packed. The weather was fine and stayed fine. There were plenty of food-stalls and varied entertainment. Most of the stall-holders dressed up as did a few of the crowd. The costumes I managed to photograph can be seen here on my Flickr pages with a couple of “Punch and Judy” shots thrown in. The event was organised by Cllr. Jill Makinson-Sanders. Hopefully this will now be an annual event in our calendar.
Crowds filling Mercer Row for the Victorian Market
All the feedback I have received has been positive except for one criticism, there were not enough rubbish bins or sacks and those that were available were quickly filled and overflowing. Perhaps a solution will be found for next year. If you have any comments for the organiser post them here and I will point them in the direction of Cllr. Makinson-Sanders.

Snake Davis is no stranger to Louth or to its music festival, but I think this is the first time the group SnakeStrings has played in the town. They have enjoyed rave reviews wherever they have played; and St James’s acoutiscs should be ideal for their eclectic mix of music. Don,t miss it!
